In 1999, Bob Larson , owner of Port & Starboard Boats, introduced the concept of a Boat Time Share. Bob started the company with a ski boat and then added a 36ft Cruiser. He signed up 16 families the first summer, bringing in $2,180 a month in income, after all expenses of boat loans, insurance, slip leases, repairs & maintenance and advertising. Plus, it still gave Bob over 76 days a year to use his own boats. Now, there are more than 890 families on a Time Share Boat Program with 162 boat owners around the country that are using the Port & Starboard System.
